Village Farms International Inc (OTCMKTS:VFFIF) has announced that they have facilitated Health Canada Pest Management Agency to get approval for branded PMV-01® which is a new crop protectant. The company has also announced that they have filed an application to get listed in the NASDAQ capital Market using the “VFF” symbol.
Leadership in crop protection
The PMV-01® that the company facilitated to get approval is a novel inoculant of mild Pepino mosaic virus that protects greenhouse tomatoes from an aggressive form of the virus by cross-protection. Village Farms also facilitated PMV-01® approval by the United States Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of De, Ceuster Meststoffen NV their Belgium based PMV-01® developer.
The CEO Village Farms, Michael DeGiglio, indicates that the company has proactively led the greenhouse production business for over 30 years in innovation, enhanced cultivation techniques food safety, sustainability as well as crop protection as demonstrated by the latest pesticide registration. He adds that the company will continue to provide leadership and expertise to the vertically integrated cannabis and hemp CBD industries.
Joe Nucci Award
The company has also announced that they received the product innovations Joe Nucci Award for their Stackable Snackables™ series during this year’s Produce Show held in New York. The CEO said that they were proud to be recognized as leading innovators in the industry.
Although the company announced the filing for listing in the NASDAQ, they nonetheless will continue to trade in the Toronto Stock exchange under the symbol “VFF.” Mr. DeGiglio stated that the motivation to file for listing in the NASDAQ market was their substantive assets and operation in the U.S as well as the recent legalization of hemp farming. The listing intends to provide the company with greater liquidity and broader exposure to investors in the U.S.
He added that NASDAQ listing would provide the company access to the biggest equity market to allow Village Farms to expand their hemp CBD growth strategy to the U.S.
