Skylight Health Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SLHG) Expands its Footprint with the Acquisition of the Doctors Centre Inc.

Doctors Center has served patients in Jacksonville, Florida, for 30 years, providing primary care services. There are four locations across Jacksonville and five providers. These will expand Skylight’s primary care network to over 23 locations across five states, as well as opportunities for value-based care programs.

Knowing that people are always looking for new, tested and true ideas to empower their health has kept Skylight on its toes. Through the years of offering patient care services to hundreds of patients, the practice has demonstrated consistent growth and success. As a result, the company’s market presence is likely to increase, according to Skylight CEO PradSekar. He admitted, “…Northeast Florida is a growth market for us and helps us build on managed care programs including Medicare Advantage… we expect to continue building further presence in this market.”

Meanwhile, the practice operates under a fee-for-service (FFS) model with payors and health plans. However, as the world evolves, value-based care (VBC) is likely to replace the FFS model.

The two teams will work together to under improved and aligned contracts with health payors. Medicare and Medicaid are already on the list of health payors, even as Skylight looks into increasing the number of lives under managed care through proprietary management platforms and technology-enabled tools.
