OrganiGram Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:OGI) introduced three new strains in its Edison flower product line – Chemdog, Grapefruit CG4, and Samurai Spy. Each strain caters to the specific needs of customers like pricing, high THC, and high quality.

Gregory Engel, CEO of OrganiGram, said the company considers the feedback from consumers and market preferences in introducing new strains in its product line. The company grows each strain in a customized grow room to ensure high quality and freshness.

Dual humidity pack for freshness

Engel said the company packages each Edison flower in a dual humidity pack to maintain freshness when it reaches the customers.

Ninja fruit

Ninja fruit, aka Samurai Spy, features spicy aroma, sweet grape flavor, crimson pistils, piney notes, and glistening lavender-jade buds. Each strain is packed with pinene, Limonene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene, and up to 24% of THC.

Chemdog

It is a hybrid variant of the Edison flower. The product features fruity aroma; trichome covered flower, violet-green buds, a spicy citrus undertone, and berry/ floral notes. Chemdog’s terpene profile consists of Linalool, Limonene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene.

Grapefruit CG4

Its features include grapefruit undertones, Pinene, Myrcene, Limonene, and Terpinolene. This specific strain also consists of 17 to 24% of THC. It is characterized by tangerine pistils, vivid green buds, citrusy gasoline aroma, and grapefruit undertones.

OrganiGram is rolling out Chemdog and Grapefruit CG4 nationwide to all the retailers. It will offer Samurai Spy in select provinces for a limited time.

Collaborates with Segra International Corp

To introduce innovative cultivars in the market and optimize its core cultivars, OrganiGram collaborates with Segra.

Segra is a pioneer in cannabis genomics and micropropagation, aka cannabis tissue culture. Micropropagation is used to develop plants that are disease resistant.

Plants developed using Micropropagation feature higher reliability, standardization, and good quality.

CEO of Segra, Jamie Blundell, said its tissue plant culture process offers a new frontier in optimizing cannabis cultivation. Adopting tissue culture on a large scale improved operational performance, operational expenditure, and boosts the bottom line for the companies. He further said companies like OrganiGram are selecting tissue culture technology to strengthen young plants and improve productivity.

Tissue culture technology unlocks the full potential of the cannabis plants. It also helps to cultivate disease-free plants.
