Emerald Health Therapeutics Inc. (OTCMKTS:EMHTF) has announced that its cannabis production joint venture Pure Sunfarms has started shipping of branded and packaged cannabis dried flower products. The JV is shipping the products to licensed private sector retailers in Manitoba, and the products are available at 26 participating cannabis retailers.
Pure Sunframs products make debut in Manitoba Province
Currently, the Pure Sunfarms products are available in five Canadian provinces representing around 70% of the country’s population. Interestingly, Manitoba is ranked sixth among the largest provinces in terms of cannabis sales, accounting for around 4.5% of Canada’s total sales. Also, it has a high per capita cannabis spend relative to the country’s average.
Pure Sunfarms CEO and President Madnesh Dosanjh stated that they were delighted to enhance their presence in Canada and also make the company’s products available to more people by adding a fifth province. Madnesh added that they are optimistic that consumers in Manitoba will receive high-quality products with the same enthusiasm that has been witnessed in British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. For July, the company attained record sales in the provinces of B.C., Alberta, and Ontario.
Emerald terminates agreements as it focuses on profitable ventures
Recently Emerald Health terminated some party agreements associated with a loan facility and consultancy services. Emerald and its control person of Emerald Health Sciences had signed a contractual agreement in May 2015 and a loan deal in August 2015. The parties have agreed to terminate the Loan Agreement and Consultancy Agreement immediately. The company’s 51% owned JV; Emerald Health Naturals Inc. has terminated supply and distribution agreement with Avricore Health Inc., which was signed in April 2018.
The company’s CEO, Riaz Bandali, stated that they were pleased with the progress they have made in rationalizing, restructuring, and terminating the agreements as they focus on operations that can offer financial and commercial value. He added that following the termination of the three agreements, the company now has only one associated party agreement remaining with an entity of Emerald Sciences.
