Canopy Growth Corp (NASDAQ: CGC) has released an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) 2020. It has also released details of its activities in 2021. The ESG report discusses the company’s progress and strategies towards sustainable growth.

According to the CEO of Canopy Growth, David Klein, the cannabis industry has been growing tremendously. For this reason, the company has taken it upon itself to ensure that the progress made is responsible and sustainable. The company is dedicated to improving lives by providing its customers with quality cannabis. Moreover, the ESG report enables it to be accountable.

Details of the ESG report 

The report details how the company first assessed its GHG emissions and Scope 1 and Scope 2 energy consumption. It also invested $1 million to support ancillary, wrap-around, and record-setting services for those the war on drugs has affected.

Canopy Growth is also working to support social justice. So far, it has done this by appointing a Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Furthermore, the company has created employee resource groups for underrepresented people such as disabled, black, indigenous, and LGBTQ employees. Another way the company has worked towards social justice is by achieving gender parity in its operations.

The company has used BioSteel Sports Nutrition to venture into the health and wellness sector in Europe, the U.S, and Canada. In addition, it has used its Martha Stewart CBD and First & Free brands to add hemp-derived CBD products to the U.S market.
